Hermann du Plessis

Hermann is the founder of the Business in July 2005. He is a professional speaker, consultant, leadership coach and teacher.

He completed a Bachelors Commerce Degree at the University of Johannesburg in 1995 with majors in Industrial Psychology and Strategic Management. In 1996 he did a Higher Education Diploma at the University of Johannesburg. He taught at Krugersdorp High School from 1997-1998.

In 1999 Hermann, joined Mosaiek church, an interdenominal congregation with 3000 members. He was the youngest member on the leadership team of Mosaiek. From 1999 to 2004 Hermann was responsible for community upliftment, leadership development of 1500 volunteers, strategic development of 250 ministries and the development of personal growth programs. Being Zulu fluent and having a passion for upliftment, Hermann has also been involved in leadership development at the Zandspruit Informal Settlement for the past 12 years. He completed his 4 year Theology diploma (Cum Laude) in 2003 at the Auckland Park Theological Seminary, affiliated to the University of Johannesburg.

In 2005 Hermann started his own business as an independent Business and Leadership coach, teacher and speaker. He completed a certificate in personal performance coaching through the Coaching Academy in the UK. He developed and trains an Advanced Diploma in Leadership and Management Coaching (NQF 7) with Monash University’s SA campus.

Some of his major clients include Standard bank and Net group. Hermann is completing his Masters Degree in Adult Education with a specific focus on the coaching needs of the various leaders and managers in the workplace. He records monthly Audio Talks and is a regular speaker on Mcatv and at church and business events.

He sits on the Board of Advisors for the International Mentoring Network.

For the last 12 years Hermann has coached, mentored, trained and consulted in various spheres of personal growth and leadership. Hermann’s vision is to cultivate diverse transformational leaders for our country.

Adel du Plessis

Adel joined the business full time in 2008. She is involved in managing and driving the business.

Adel completed her B.Com Acc (Honours) at the University of Johannesburg in 1998. She completed her articles at Deloitte Entrepreneurial Services from 1999 to 2001 and qualified as CA (SA). She consulted in Deloitte Corporate Tax and lectured part-time at Damelin in 2002.

In 2003 and 2004 Adel lectured and coordinated first year Accounting at the University of Witwatersrand for 1000 students with 30 tutors and a visually impaired student. In 2003 Adel completed various B.Ed (Honours) courses (cum laude) in Adult Education.

During this period Adel was also the leader of the Women’s Ministry and led the support group for eating disorders for teenage girls at Mosaiek, an inter-denominal church of 3000 members.

In 2005 and 2006 Adel lectured and coordinated various courses at Monash SA including Accounting and Auditing 1&2, the Academic Development Programme and the CA Accounting Curriculum. Adel completed her Master’s degree (Cum Laude) in Accounting Education with a specific focus on curriculum development for deep learning.

In 2007 Adel had a self discovery year and explored entrepreneurial opportunities including direct selling (Virgin C), clothing manufacturing (Big Blue supplier), events planning and corporate image consulting (Wholistic Image & Daffodil).

In 2008 she joined and started her career as speaker, writer, researcher and curriculum developer for Business and Professional Skills for Gen Y. She is a registered Assessor and Moderator with FASSET SETA. Her major clients include SAICA Thuthuka, WITS Thuthuka, ca(sa)@Nedbank and Standard Bank Security Services.

In 2009 Adel received 2 awards: Mrs United Nation SA 1st Runner up and ROCCI Community Services Champion Silver awards. Her vision is to experience each day like her Red wine – with all your Senses! She is also founder and director of L4A (Lead for Africa).

She has publications in Business Journals, the International Book, Globalisation of Accounting Standard and is a regular writer for the Accountancy SA magazine. She is a speaker on Mcatv and the “Leadership Surge” audio talks. Adel is a regular speaker at Business Conferences and Women Conferences. Adel’s vision is to enjoy her life like her Red Wine – with all your senses!

Ric Andrews

Ric is a consultant and trainer in Innovative Growth Strategies for Businesses.

Ric was awarded a Deloitte bursary and studied at the University of Natal, Pietermaritzburg before joining the firm in 1993. Ric initially spent 4 years in the Assurance division where he was appointed to the position of Manager. During this time Ric worked in the Pietermaritzburg, Boston (US) and Wellington (NZ) offices. In New Zealand Ric transferred to the Enterprise Risk Services division for 2 years where he was promoted to Senior Manager.

Ric returned to South Africa in 1998 with the innovative idea of setting up a unique and innovative ethics whistle blowing hotline service for Deloitte. Ric played a key role in turning his idea into reality and “Tip-offs Anonymous”, as the service is now known, has become a very successful business for the firm.

This experience piqued Ric’s interest in establishing innovative new businesses and in 1999 he transferred to the firm’s Strategic Business Development division as a Business Development Executive. This role involved making strategic business investments for Deloitte & Touché in South Africa and required significant entrepreneurial flair. In this role Ric focused primarily on IT related investments and growth opportunities.

As a result of the success of Strategic Business Development in South Africa, the entire executive team was seconded on a full time basis to the global firm’s Service Innovation Board from June 2000, where Ric fulfilled the role of Global Business Development process leader. In this capacity Ric was responsible for co-ordinating all business development activities, which included development of business cases, negotiation, deal structuring and responsibility for the legal documentation in respect of the business investment transactions. The role involved dealing with senior leaders in the international firm and required strong leadership, strategic vision and the ability to act decisively. His role also incorporated assisting these newly acquired or newly established businesses with their strategic growth, merger and acquisition activity, governance and integration into the wider Deloitte firm.

In 2002 Ric was appointed as an Associate Director of Deloitte and helped to establish the firm’s Innovation and Growth service offering for clients. Since then Ric has assisted various organisations with establishing and rolling out their innovation and growth initiatives. This work covers strategy design and implementation, as well as development of specific opportunities. In 2005 Ric resigned from Deloitte to establish his own business focused on:

  • Design and implementation of innovation and growthh strategies / initiatives
  • Facilitating identification of specific innovation and growth opportunities
  • Rapidly turning specific opportunities into practical and profitable business ventures
  • Partnering to deliver innovative niche business opportunities with high growth potential.

Tonipfani Tshibakela

Toniphani is our inspiring administrative learner.

Toni completed Grade 12 in 2002. She completed a computer course in 2003. Finding it difficult to get a job, Toni started as Adel’s domestic worker in 2004. Toni’s character, her work ethic and willingness to learn made an impression on everyone who met her. Toni wanted to pursue an administrative role and Adel sponsored her studies in Office Administration at Dam Business College in 2007. Toni passed her courses with distinction. She started to work for our business on a part-time basis in 2008 and started in 2009 with further training to develop her skills more. Toni has a beautiful son, Zanga and we are proud to have her on our team. Her passion is to look after her son.

Dr Eugene Kemp

Dr Eugene Kemp is a clinical Psychologist and trainer in the Emotional Intelligences and NLP.

Eugene completed his teaching diploma in the 1980’s and lectured at Goudstad until 1990. He completed his Masters in Psychology during the 1990’s and has been practising for the past 20 years. Dr Kemp holds a PHD in Nero Linguistic Programming. He writes for various magazines and is a regular speaker on RSG. In 2008 Eugene published a book, Brekfis met die Shrink. His passion is to guide people to find their optimal human calling.
